Specialist Physician in the Emergency Section in Gävle

In internal medicine, we offer outpatient and inpatient care in pulmonology, stroke, nephrology, hematology, gastroenterology, and endocrinology. We are a well-functioning organization characterized by broad expertise and a strong team of specialist physicians and residents. The emergency section includes the intermediate care unit (IMA), medical emergency care unit (MAVA), and the day on-call duty at the emergency department. We encounter a wide spectrum of patients, and our efforts make a real difference for each individual.

As IMA grows and a new house call function has been established, we need to strengthen our team in the emergency section in Gävle with a specialist physician. We are looking for someone who wants to develop emergency care with us, who is driven by working with complex acute patient cases in environments with good resources, and who enjoys working at a fast pace with a strong focus on education.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We treat patients with a wide variety of diseases in the body's internal organs, making the work both broad and complex. As a specialist physician, you will lead the daily work and contribute to safe and structured care. We are constantly working on workflows where you will have a central and important role. You will be part of a team with experienced nurses, nursing assistants, and BT-, AT-, and ST-physicians. Collaboration with other units is close and a natural part of everyday life.

Main Responsibilities

• assess, treat, and follow up patients in IMA and MAVA
• take day on-call or house call
• participate in the development of care flows and working methods for an efficient and patient-safe care environment
• supervise and support BT-, AT-, and ST-physicians in their clinical work.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who wants to develop emergency care within the emergency section. You enjoy varying paces and are happy to bring new thoughts and ideas to work-related issues. You have good collaboration skills, are attentive and communicative. As a person, you are calm and stable and have the ability to focus on the right things and make decisions even in stressful situations. Furthermore, we see that you take responsibility for your work and can plan, structure, and prioritize your work effectively.

For this position, the following is required:

• medical license with a specialist certificate in internal medicine or emergency medicine.

If you have experience in relevant emergency care or intermediate care, it is an advantage.
